Maya started riding at the age of 4 and began her career in the Hunter/Jumper ring for 10 years. She then moved to Germany where she trained in the Classical Dressage system, riding with a long time student of Egon von Neindorff.  In Germany, Maya showed successfully both in the dressage and Jumper ring riding horses of all different levels. When she moved back to Canada, she began her business “Equest” which specialized mainly in developing young horses, both for the show ring and sales.  Maya has been teaching for numerous years, teaching adults and children of all levels. She is currently attending clinics with Britta Johnston from Germany and trains regularly with Alex Reinfels.  Maya has had a very successful year showing her 5 year old Holsteiner Gelding “Lumiere” who has demonstrated great potential to be her upcoming Grand Prix horse.
